Metaplanet, a Tokyo-based investment firm, announced its latest purchase of 1,111 Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to an impressive 11,111 BTC. The company announced the acquisition on Monday in Asia, cementing its status as one of the largest corporate Bitcoin holders in the world.
According to CEO Simon Gerovich, the total holdings of 11,111 Bitcoin were accumulated for roughly $1.07 billion, averaging $95,869 per Bitcoin. At current market prices, this massive treasury is now valued at approximately $1.12 billion.
New Targets: From 10,000 to 210,000 Bitcoin
Metaplanet made its latest move just a week after achieving its original goal of 10,000 BTC, which was initially targeted for the end of 2025. The firm has now revised its longโterm roadmap:

With this latest acquisition, Metaplanet has surpassed miner Hut 8, which holds roughly 10,273 Bitcoin, making the Japanese firm one of the top ten corporate holders of Bitcoin globally.

Although Metaplanetโs Tokyoโlisted stock price fell by 3.54% to ยฅ1,718 ($11.72) as of late morning trading in Japan, its overall performance has been remarkable. The companyโs share price has surged 393% since the beginning of the year, underscoring its growing prominence in the digital asset space.
