Azuki’s ANIME Token Hits $350M Market Cap Within 24 Hours of Launch

The newly launched Animecoin (ANIME), created to support the Azuki NFT ecosystem, achieved a market capitalization of over $350 million just one day after its debut.

As of now, ANIME is trading at approximately $0.063 and has a fully diluted valuation (FDV) of around $630 million, with about 5.53 billion tokens circulating, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Animecoin was introduced on January 23, with a total supply of 10 billion tokens. The project’s tokenomics outline the following allocations:

• 37.5% designated for the Azuki community.
• 13% reserved for a future DAO, empowering ANIME holders to manage funds for community development.
• 24.44% allocated to the Azuki Foundation.
• The remaining 25% is divided among the Azuki company, early contributors, advisors, and partner communities such as Hyperliquid’s HYPE stakers, Kaito yappers, and Arbitrum-based communities.

Tokens allocated to early contributors and employees are subject to a three-year vesting schedule with a one-year cliff, ensuring a gradual release to maintain long-term commitment.

Animecoin is a pivotal element of the anime-themed web3 network being developed by Azuki and the Arbitrum Foundation. The ecosystem’s expansion will include Animechain, a Layer 3 blockchain built using Arbitrum’s Orbit technology, where Animecoin will serve as the gas token.

Azuki NFT Collection and Ecosystem

The Azuki NFT project, launched by Chiru Labs in 2022, consists of 10,000 anime-inspired digital artworks. It is one of the most prominent NFT collections, with a weekly trading volume of $31.6 million between January 12 and January 19, according to PRIME’s Data Dashboard.

In addition to its NFT collection, Azuki expanded its ecosystem by launching Hilumia, a virtual world introduced in January 2023, designed to further integrate Azuki’s community and digital assets.

With Animecoin’s rapid rise and integration into the expanding Azuki web3 ecosystem, its future growth looks promising. The planned launch of Animechain and the development of a decentralized community governance model through the DAO could further solidify Azuki’s position as a leader in the NFT and web3 space.
