Etherscan, the leading Ethereum and EVM-compatible block explorer, has unveiled Seiscan, a specialized platform designed exclusively for the Sei Network. This new explorer provides developers and users with access to Etherscan’s analytics, API services, and real-time tracking, handling more than a billion daily requests across Ethereum and other EVM chains.
The release follows a July announcement that Etherscan was preparing a block explorer for Sei, enabling users to track transactions, wallet addresses, and smart contract activity. Existing explorers on Sei include Seistream and Seitrace, but Seiscan brings the familiarity and depth of Etherscan to the network.
Developer-Friendly and Symbolic Milestone
Jayendra Jog, co-founder of Sei Labs, highlighted the significance:
“Partnering with Etherscan on Seiscan is practical for developers, but also a symbolic moment for the Sei community, reaffirming our commitment to being an EVM-compatible ecosystem.”
Sei Ecosystem Expansion
The Sei Network has been rapidly expanding. Last month, MetaMask integrated Sei support, allowing users to access Sei-based apps, tokens, and NFTs, as well as swap, bridge, and purchase tokens via built-in fiat options.
Sei’s mainnet launched in 2023, and with the rollout of its EVM-compatible chain, Sei V2, the network now processes roughly 4.4 million transactions per day, hosts 13 million unique users, and maintains $580 million in total value locked (TVL) as of August.
Future Growth and Institutional Focus
Looking ahead, Sei aims to build infrastructure for real-world asset tokenization, attracting Wall Street and institutional participants to its high-performance EVM-compatible chain. Jog added:
“Once Sei’s Giga update ships, it will raise the benchmark for blockchain performance and draw significant interest from large institutions.”
SEI Token Overview
The SEI token ranks as the 79th-largest cryptocurrency, trading around $0.30, down about 1% in the past 24 hours, with a market capitalization of $1.7 billion, according to PRIME.
